The upgrade to Quick Heal Admin Console 4.2 can be performed by downloading the required flavor of Quick Heal client agent accompanying Quick Heal Admin Console 4.2 and then performing the steps that follow.

Instruction for upgrade to Quick Heal Admin Console 4.2
   

Quick Heal Admin Console Multi-server installation is a unique feature. Now Administrator can install Quick Heal Admin Console 4.2 where Quick Heal Admin Console 4.1 or 4.0 is already installed. This feature enables Administrators to easily upgrade to Quick Heal Admin Console 4.2 by taking simple steps.

 

To upgrade Quick Heal Admin Console, take below given steps:

  1. Install Quick Heal Admin Console on the system where old Admin Console is already installed.

  2. Quick Heal Admin Console will detect the old existing, it will show the following prompt:

  1.  Click Yes to proceed with multiserver installation.
  2.  Upon completion of installation of the new version Quick Heal Admin Console, open the older Quick Heal Admin Console and perform the following steps:
    1. Click Administrator Settings -> Admin Server.
    2. Type the Server Name or IP Address of the new version of Quick Heal Admin Console in Server Name/IP textbox
    3. Type the port number of the new Admin Console in Port textbox.
    4. Click Apply button.
    This will send a notification to all Quick Heal clients about the new version of Quick Heal Admin Console and all Quick Heal clients will be redirected to the new version Quick Heal Admin Console.
  3. The new version of Quick Heal Admin Console will check for any old clients in the network. Upon detection Quick Heal Admin Console will automatically uninstall existing old clients and install new clients.
  4. Once all the clients are upgraded, you can uninstall old Quick Heal Admin Console from system. Before uninstallation, note down the Product key and activation number of your Quick Heal Admin Console which will be required for reactivation of new Quick Heal Admin Console.
  5. After uninstallation of old Quick Heal Admin Console, reactivate new Quick Heal Admin Console with your existing Product key and activation number.

Important Notes

 

You can upgrade all lower version clients to higher version within 30 days period only.   
If you have configured lower version Quick Heal Admin Console site with IIS on Windows XP and 2K based system and with SSL support enabled, then you will not able to configure higher version Quick Heal Admin Console site with SSL support on above operating systems. In this case you can install higher version Quick Heal Admin Console with Apache Web Server.
If you want to upgrade your lower version Quick Heal Admin Console with Internet Security to higher version Quick Heal Admin Console with Total Security, then you will be prompted for Quick Heal Admin Console with Total Security Product key. You will be able to proceed with multiserver installation only upon entering valid Quick Heal Admin Console Product key.
If you’ve installed an earlier version of Quick Heal Admin Console then do not uninstall Apache Server during uninstallation of the earlier version of Quick Heal Admin Console.

Quick Heal Admin Console Standalone Update Manager
   

Quick Heal Admin Console Standalone Update Manager is provided if the Server on which Quick Heal Admin Console is installed is not connected to the Internet due to security concerns or any other reason. In such a network setup users need to install Quick Heal Admin Console Standalone Update Manager on a machine that is connected to the Internet. The machine having Quick Heal Admin Console Standalone Update Manager will download the updates of the respective Quick Heal client agent. The location, where the updates are downloaded, needs to be turned into a website by the Administrator, using IIS or Apache server, and the resulting URL and Port number will be used by the Update Manager integrated with Quick Heal Admin Console on the server to fetch the updates from the machine with the Standalone Update Manager. The clients on the network will fetch the latest updates from the server having Quick Heal Admin Console. Quick Heal Admin Console is bundled with one of the following Quick Heal client agents: Quick Heal AntiVrus 2010, Quick Heal Internet Security 2010 or Quick Heal Total Security 2010.     Quick Heal Admin Console Remote Management is a standalone tool that can manage multiple Quick Heal Admin Consoles from a centralized or remote location. Quick Heal Admin Console can be accessed using a URL, Username and a password. Managing multiple consoles would become a cumbersome task because you need to remember the URL, Username and Password of each Admin Console. Quick Heal Admin Console Remote Management provides a simple and efficient solution where you can assign the URL, Username and Password of each Admin Consoles to corresponding location names.
